1978 JaguarXJ6

Jaguar XJ6 Series IIJaguar XJ6 Series II 2

XJs are wonderful and problematic and amazing and challenging…They are also, objectively, severely undervalued. Seriously! Take this particular, gorgeous example for instance: it’s a Series II, the best looking of the XJs – don’t @ us because this is the hill we’ll die on; it’s the right color, this rich 70’s brown that pops like crazy in the sunlight; it has the right engine – yes, V12s are awesome but Jaguars and straight sixes go along like PB&J; it looks perfectly fit to be a weekend driver, it has a service history, there are no alarming surface rust bubbles…and it’s 6.750 Euros (7.500 USD). What on earth would you possibly be able to find that it’s this cool, this pretty and this glamorous for under 7 grand? There’s nothing that can even come close to that. Ugh, now we’re just gonna be lusting after this one forever…You’re killing us, Netherlands!

1971 Iso Lele

Iso LeleIso Lele 2

The Lele is such a unique looking ride. There’s no mistaking it for anything else and even despite being born in the shadow of the Grifo, it does its own thing beautifully. Named after the wife of Piero Rivolta and aimed squarely at luxury touring, the Lele is also a brilliant, timeless Bertone design. A successful 70’s hybrid of European good looks and tough American V8, the Lele was produced in very low numbers and prices do reflect that. However, this beautiful metallic blue example available at the well known Gallery Aaldering has the added bonus of recently having gone through a complete restoration (all documented in a nice thick file of invoices), so you’re paying more now but worrying a lot less about the future.

1968 Citroen DS 21 Décapotable

Citroen DS DecapotableCitroen DS Decapotable 2

Say hello to the fancy life! Be the best dandy you can possibly be behind the wheel of the most coveted DS, the Henri Chapron top down style extravaganza that is the Décapotable (“Convertible”). Any DS is a good DS, regardless of variant the car is a symbol of sophistication, class, the appreciation for a certain unique manner of presenting yourself to the world, but the Décapotable is peak DS experience and that comes with a cost. Still, we were expecting a bigger asking price to be honest; this is – to us – far prettier than the earlier 19s and yet, the tag is significant lower.

1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV

Lamborghini Diablo SVLamborghini Diablo SV 2

Sometimes you just got to go all out and picking up a yellow Diablo SV certainly constitutes as going all out. The Diablo was the last bonkers, “I do what I want when I want to” Lamborghini. The Murciélago was a huge step toward civilizing the big V12 Lambos and the Aventador is already something much more tamed and of the electronic age. The Diablo is of a different time and breed, it’s still raw, barely contained power with the killer looks to match. If making a statement is your goal, nothing is gonna speak louder than this.

1999 Jaguar XK 180

Jaguar XK 180Jaguar XK 180 2

When people are passionate about a project the results can truly be awesome. This is one of those instances. JePe Specials, a company in the Netherlands decided it would be a good idea to come up with a sick replica of the awe inspiring XK 180, a Jaguar concept car from 1998. Since Jaguar is in the business of not doing the coolest stuff they come up with – *cough* C-X75 *cough* – JePe Specials took over and did a hell of a good job. Made with the traditional coachbuilding techniques and powered by the good old 4.0L Supercharged Jag V8, this XK 180 reiteration will be a stunning, fast, unique addition to any Jaguar enthusiast’s garage.

2002 Spyker C8 Double 12

Spyker C8 Double 12Spyker C8 Double 12 2

Once again we’re back in the Netherlands in this edition of “”For Sale!”, this time for one of (if not, the) best products of that nation: Spykers. As a company, Spyker hasn’t done great and even today we’re not exactly sure about what’s going on there. It went under in 2014, then it supposedly had a deal with Koenigsegg in 2018 but that died before it was even finalized…and now their website hasn’t been updated in years, so it’s unclear what future Spyker will or won’t have. This is truly a damn shame because the company has made some of the best looking, most daring cars to ever see the light of day. The C8 Spyder and Laviolette? Stunning things, creations for the history books. And the Aileron variant of the C8 was just as impressive. The C12 Spykers are equally as delightfully crazy and even more powerful. The fine looking C8 being offered for sale by the good folks of Classic Youngtimers Consultancy is a Double 12, a commemorative model of sorts made when Spyker moved operations to a new factory. It was sold as luxurious, comfortable, road going version of the Le Mans Double 12 race car. The outside is easily recognizable as a C8 with only the Sir Mix-A-Lot rear giving it away as something a bit spicier. This thing is impressive! You don’t need to know what it is to realize it’s something pretty special; the interiors are over the top Spyker brilliance and on the outside, the rivets around the wide wheel arches and rear spoiler are pretty much the coolest thing we’ve ever seen. Plus, this particular example was owned by Spyker founder Victor Muller, so it has less than 1000km. If you have deep enough pockets and you’re looking for a unique ride, this is most definitely it.

2016 Maserati Quattroporte “Shooting Brake”

Maserati Quattroporte Shooting BreakMaserati Quattroporte Shooting Break 2

The more frequent AV readers among you will notice that yes, we’ve featured this Quattroporte before a few months ago. It is a beautiful estate (call it a shooting brake if you absolutely must) and it deserves a loving home. It hasn’t been sold yet and that just seems wrong and unacceptable, so for the love of all that’s good and decent, someone enjoy this thing!
