1971 Peugeot 504 Coupe

1971 Peugeot 504 Coupe

Before Peugeot stunned car enthusiasts everywhere with their very appealing E-Legend Concept, everybody had sort of forgotten just how special and beautiful the 504 Coupe (in which the E-Legend is inspired) really was. But, like Peugeot, we’re here to remind you. Part of an incredibly accomplished family of tireless, indestructible workhorses and tough rally winners the 504 Coupe is one of the last cheap entries into the stylish classic coupes party. A perfect Pininfarina body with a V6 under the hood for about 20.000€ is the kind of deal which will simply evaporate in upcoming years, so the time to scoop one up is right now.

2003 BMW Z8

2003 BMW Z8

How serious of a James Bond fan are you? Well, L’Art de L’automobile invites you to find out. Up for grabs is chassis 007 of the most coveted BMW “modern classic”: the Z8. A reinterpretation of the legendary 507, the Z8 is unquestionably one of the most beautiful cars BMW has ever made and of course, since the Pierce Brosnan Bond years were also BMW’s Bond years, the Z8 was featured – although briefly and only to be cut in half – in 1999’s 007 adventure “The World is Not Enough”. It also appeared in the video for the movie’s theme song. This particular example, black not silver like the Bond car, is available for 360 thousand Euros…now, if you haven’t been keeping up with Z8 prices, that 007 chassis number takes the price tag of a Z8 in great condition and sticks a premium of about 100 grand on it. So again, how serious of a Bond fan are you?

1969 Shelby GT500

1969 Shelby GT500

Although not the best of the GT500s – that title is reserved for the 1967 model – the 1969 GT500 is without a doubt the most striking and arguably, the most beautiful of the GT500s. A complete departure from Ford’s mainline Mustang design, the 69 GT500 introduced a new bold front which, unfortunately, never made it out of Shelby’s lineup to Ford’s. Funny enough, the style changes were Ford’s decision, not Shelby’s so go figure. A rare car anywhere but especially in Europe, the GT500 is the ultimate prize for any Mustang enthusiast and a 1969 model, the year Ford and Carroll’s cooperation came to an end, would be the undisputed star of any car collection.

1989 Isdera Spider 036i

1989 Isdera Spider

“Different” doesn’t begin to cover it. Under the guidance of founder/designer Eberhard Schulz, Isdera came up with the stunning, mind blowing Imperator, a production version of Mercedes’ CW311 show car, but then thought: “can we make it weirder…and topless?” and so they did. 17 Spiders were completed and let’s face it, they’re nowhere near as good looking as the Imperator but they’re certainly unique and you’re very, very unlikely to come across someone else driving one. The Isdera Spider offered here for sale is an original and unrestored one owner car, powered by a Mercedes 6 cylinder engine. If quirkiness is your thing and you don’t mind being exposed to the elements, a futuristic bright red open top Isdera might be just the thing for you.

1969 Lincoln Continental MkIII

1969 Lincoln Continental Mk III

Ok, so realistically nobody needs a land yacht, especially not in Europe. But if fun on a budget is your main goal and if the Saturday night drives and Sunday morning meets are enough to keep your automotive attention quota filled, the MkIII Continental will make sure you’re noticed from a mile away. The car itself may come with an estimate of around 20 something thousand, but the aesthetic of the thing alone is worth a million bucks. Far from being the most iconic of the Continentals, the MkIII is however one of the best looking and most interesting ones. The imposing design, low stance and general “gangster look” make it wonderfully sinister and in your face. Not being in perfect condition, where else are you gonna find another one around these parts?

2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante

2006 Aston Martin DB9 Volante

Yes, AV keeps pushing the DB9 on people and no, the website isn’t getting any fees for used DB9 sales from any dealerships…these are just awesome cars. Honestly, look at this unbelievably beautiful thing in Liquid Gold Metallic with brown leather interiors, it’s just extraordinary. Not a bad angle on the Coupes or the Volantes. At around 60 thousand Euros, this 13 year old convertible will make you look like you just dropped 120+ grand at the dealership. The style is timeless, the mystique undeniable. There’s just no way to go wrong with (a sorted example of) one of these.

2016 Maserati Quattroporte Custom Station Wagon/Estate/Shooting Break

2016 Maserati Quattroporte Shooting Break

2016 Maserati Quattroporte Shooting Break 2

This month’s belle of the ball is a custom creation in the finest automotive tradition of turning things into station wagons that have no business being station wagons. Some time ago, Carrozzeria Touring made 4 wagon (“shooting break”, if you must or estate for our separatist friends in England) versions of the Quattroporte V called “Bellagio Fastbacks” and they were…not pretty!? It was very surprising and profoundly disappointing. Stuff from Touring is almost always drop dead gorgeous but guess you just can’t knock it out of the park every time. In any case, the Bellagio Fastbacks made enough of an impression on a British Maserati enthusiast that he decided to buy one. Having missed the chance to do so, he did the next best thing and commissioned his own. He got in touch with Adam Redding from Adam Redding Classic Cars, a restoration company which also does modifications and a plan was drawn up: a Quattroporte VI would spend about 1500 hours being transformed in what would be called the “Cinqueporte” (geeeeet it???). The finished product is extremely impressive, the design is 99% successful and it’s so much better looking than the cars it was inspired on. Sadly, it was based on the V6 diesel version of the Quattroporte so there’s that, but otherwise this thing is an all-round triumph of vision and ingenuity.
